The Vacaville Chamber of Commerce and the Fairfield-Suisun Chamber of Commerce, along with the California Chamber of Commerce, partnered with nearly 200 other local organizations to send a letter to Governor Gavin Newsom and legislators demanding immediate action to relieve the current misfortune California businesses are experiencing due to COVID-19. The letter sent this week asserts that many employers currently believe they could safely reopen given the extensive work they have done to create a safe environment for their employees and customers. It states that some employers are shutting down their locations in California completely and transferring well-paying jobs elsewhere.

“The State will need a strong business recovery to bring back jobs and stability to our communities. We cannot recover when businesses are shutting down and employers are leaving,” the letter states.
While it praises Governor Newsom for his proposed grants, loans, and tax relief for businesses, the caucus believes instantaneous action is still needed.
